How To Measure Your Finger

  • Cut a strip of paper no wider than 1.4cm (1/2") or find a piece of non elasticated string.
  • Wrap it around the base of the finger you wish to measure.
  • Use a pen to mark where the paper or string start to overlap to form a complete circle.
  • Make sure your ring sizer slides fairly easily over the knuckle.
  • With a ruler measure the length from the starting end of the paper or string to where you have made a pen mark.
  • Use this measurement with the chart below to determine your ring size.

Here are some helpful tips for finding out the correct ring size

  • Once you have placed the paper or string around your chosen finger, make sure it slides off over the knuckle easily.
  • There is no set rule as to how tight your ring should be on your finger.
  • Your fingers are at their smallest when you are cold, so wait until your hands are warm.
  • The best time of day to get an accurate reading of your ring size is at the end of the day, when your fingers are at their largest.
  • If you are buying the ring as a surprise, one way to get the ring size is to borrow a ring from the correct finger and slide it down a tapered candle, use a piece of paper or string to take a measurement then simply follow the steps above to get the correct size.
