How to buy the perfect engagement ring for the woman you love
Before I let you into the biggest secrets of buying the perfect enagement ring, can I be honest with you?
The best way to buy her an engagement ring that she will love is to let her choose it herself.
She will wear this ring everyday so it must look and feel good on her finger and most imporatantly suit her lifestyle.
It may take time trying on many different diamond shapes and styles before you find the perfect ring.
Still want to go it alone?
If you still want to go it alone and surprise her or perhaps you don't want her to be involved with pricing and payment issues, follow these simple rules (don't worry there are only 5!) and you will buy an engagement ring she will love almost as much as she loves you!

Along with manufacturers of quality silver jewellery, we recommend the regular use of a silver polishing cloth impregnated with and anti-tarnish ingredient to keep your silver jewellery looking good.
Simply rub the silver jewellery with the cloth to bring up the shine and get rid of the first signs of tarnishing (when the silver begins to look black).
We advise that you do not use silver dip too often - this is a very harsh chemical and over use will damage the surface of the silver. If you find that a silver polishing cloth does not remove the tarnish marks or if your jewellery has not been cleaned for a long time you may need to use a silver dip.
When using silver dip immerse your silver jewellery in the solution for a few seconds (maximum of 15 seconds) then rinse carefully in water and dry thoroughly. Finsih with s rub with a soft cloth and your jewellery will look like new.

It is the sulphur in the atmosphere that reacts with siver causing it to turn a nasty black colour. Other substances that can "turn" silver are perfumes, hairsprays, body lotion and chlorine, so as with all jewellery, we recomment that you avoid using these whilst wearing your silver jewellery. |

Platinum is a naturally occuring white metal and so does not need to be rhodium plated - unlike white gold.
Platinum hallmarked in Britain is usually 95% pure (as opposed to 37.5% in 9 carat gold and 75%in 18 carat gold) so is extremely unlikely to cause any allergic reaction
Because of its limited availablity (it is 35 times rarer than gold), platinum has a very special value.
Platinum is one of the strongest and densest precious metals, so it can be worn with confidence, it requires very little maintenance and is an ideal metal for holding stones securely in place.
In other words platinum is
PURE - RARE- ETERNAL
the perfect metal to celebrate the perfect love.
White gold on the other hand, is a mixture of yellow gold and white metals which is then ususally coated to with rhodium to give a bright shiny finish. This rhodium coating can wear off but can easily be re-applied.
A good way of understanding how we get white gold is to imagine a pot of yellow paint (yellow gold) and if we keep adding white paint (white metal alloys) to it, it will never become pure white but it will loose it's bright yellow appearance. This is the basis for white gold which when rhodium platered gives us the bright white finish that we recognise as white gold.
As most of our rings are available in either platinum, white gold or yellow gold you can choose the material which best suits your lifestyle and budget. |
