Pebbles welcomes Scotland's first Festival of Silent Cinema to Bo'ness

It is entirely appropriate that Scotland's first Festival of Silent Cinema should take place in Scotland's first purpose built cinema, the Hippodrome here in Bo'ness.  This wonderful celebration of silent cinema kicks off with an opening night gala showing of 'It' on Friday 18th March and closes with a screening of 'Nosferatu' on Sunday 20th March.

Around 20 films of the silent era, largely the 1920's, will be shown at the Hippodrome during the silent film festival.  Along with the familar Charlie Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy classics, the festival will feature a film starring Clara Bow, the original 'It Girl', who was one of the leading stars of the 1920's and at one time she was receiving 45,000 fan letters a week!

To recapture the glamour of screen idols like Clara Bow with a contemporary twist, something special to wear on opening night or to any screening come and see us while you are in Bo'ness or browse our collections online.

Pebbles is a gem of a jewellery and accessory shop located on Hope Street Bo'ness, very near the Hippodrome, where the Festival of Silent Cinema is taking place.
